Nationalism in India — Chapter Overview
Nationalism in India developed in the colonial context. The growth of modern nationalism was closely connected with the anti-colonial movement. People began discovering their unity through their struggle against colonialism, while different social groups experienced colonial rule in different ways.
In India and as in numerous different states, the development of present day patriotism is personally associated with the counter provincial development. Individuals started finding their solidarity during the time spent their battle with imperialism. The feeling of being mistreated under imperialism gave a common bond that integrated a wide range of gatherings. However, each class and gathering felt the impacts of expansionism in an unexpected way, their encounters were fluctuated, and their ideas of opportunity were not generally the equivalent. The Congress under Mahatma Gandhi attempted to fashion these gatherings together inside one development. In any case, the solidarity did not rise without strife.
